Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson suffered a scare on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, when defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh inadvertently stepped on Wilson’s ankle in the third quarter with the Seahawks leading 6-3.
Wilson remained in the game, throwing one more pass while clearly lacking movement in his right ankle and lacking strength and accuracy on the attempt. Backup QB Trevone Boykin got a helmet and warmed up but never had to come back into the game. Wilson returned with his ankles seriously wrapped in black tape.
He has never missed so much as a snap in his career due to injury. As far as mid-game, it is especially concerning given that Seattle is only ahead by three points and Wilson has had to scramble all day due to the Seahawks offensive line being heavily outmatched by the Dolphins defensive line. Wilson threw 26 passes in the first half, the most in any half during his career.
