For the first time in the post-Tharold Simon era, the Seattle Seahawks will travel to face the division foe Los Angeles Rams. Oh, and it’s the team’s first regular season visit to Los Angeles since 1988. The 1-0 Seahawks will come into the LA Coliseum trying to grab their first win off the lousy Rams since the 2014 season, as the perpetually 7-9 outfit managed to sweep the season series in 2015, 2-0.
The always frustrating matchup between the two NFC West teams will be made even more frustrating by quarterback Russell Wilson’s ankle injury, combined with the missing Germain Ifedi and the tenacious L.A. defensive line.
It’s a return home for several big name Seahawks, including head coach Pete Carroll, who coached at USC for eight seasons, and cornerback Richard Sherman, who was born and raised in Compton, California. Nothing is ever guaranteed against the pesky Rams, but if last Monday is any indication, this iteration of Jeff Fisher’s team will be hard pressed to achieve even seven wins in 2016.
