By the end, the Houston Texans were a mere four yards away from winning the game. But a failure to convert a first down gave Russell Wilson one more opportunity to redeem his previous throw, which he did three plays later with a game-winning touchdown to Jimmy Graham.
Seahawks 41. Texans 38. Larger number of points wins, as they say.
The win puts Seattle at 5-2 on the season, which is good enough for a tie with the LA Rams for first place in the NFC West. Since the Seahawks already beat the Rams this year, it technically gives them an edge, though LA will have one more chance to redeem themselves as well. Still, for now, Seattle sits in a pretty good position in the NFC after winning their fourth game in a row.

In the overall playoff standings in the NFC, the Seahawks sit in the four spot behind the 7-1 Eagles, 5-2 Vikings, and 5-2 Saints. Both of those 5-2 teams are 4-1 in the conference, which is one win better than Seattle’s 3-1 record in conference. Basically, the Seahawks are right there with the number two seed, they just need to catch up in conference games and hopefully in conference wins. They can get their fourth NFC win next week when hosting Washington, followed by a road game against the struggling Cardinals.
They also host Philadelphia in Week 13, potentially the biggest NFC game of the year if things continue down this road.
