Seahawks trade for Duane Brown, ship Jeremy Lane to Texans

NFL: Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Well, the Seattle Seahawks have a left tackle. Duane Brown is now on the Seahawks, per Adam Schefter.

Brown held out from the Houston Texans over a contract dispute up until Sunday in Houston’s 41-38 loss to the Seahawks. Seattle’s biggest issue on the season, and against Jadeveown Clowney this week, has been at left tackle. It now appears that Rees Odhiambo will go back to either guard or a backup role, where he really belongs.

Brown was a first round pick in 2008, making the Pro Bowl in each season from 2012 to 2014. He missed four games last season and two games in 2015. He was an AP first team All-Pro in 2011 and 2012.

What the Seahawks gave up in return has not yet been reported. How they will manage to absorb Brown’s deal is also not yet certain, making it more likely that a player is going back to the Texans.

Update: It appears Jeremy Lane (and potentially a third round pick) are going to Houston:

Update #2: The Seahawks traded Lane, a 2018 5th and a 2019 2nd to the Texans for Brown
