Duane Brown trade: Twitter reacts to Seahawks acquiring former Texans left tackle

On the eve of the NFL trade deadline, the Seattle Seahawks traded cornerback Jeremy Lane, a 2018 fifth-round pick, and a 2019 second-round pick to the Houston Texans for left tackle Duane Brown, who literally made his season debut against the Seahawks on Sunday. This is an undeniable huge upgrade at left tackle from Rees Odhiambo, who’d been playing in place of the injured George Fant since the third week of preseason.

For all of the criticism that Pete Carroll, John Schneider, and Tom Cable have received for the way this offensive line has been constructed over the years, acquiring Brown is a big deal (no pun intended). It looks as if the next several weeks will see a lineup of Duane Brown-Ethan Pocic-Justin Britt-Oday Aboushi-Germain Ifedi. And to think, Brown and Aboushi started on the same line for Houston in a few games last season, now they’ll be reunited in Seattle.

Here’s a quick compilation of reactions on Twitter, including a tweet from Duane’s wife, Devi Brown.
