The Seattle Seahawks took care of business on the road once again, as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 24-13 in Santa Clara. That’s about the only good news for Seattle, as results in other games did not break their way. The Los Angeles Rams ended the New Orleans Saints’ eight-game winning streak to stay atop the NFC West, the Carolina Panthers rallied to beat the Jets, and the Atlanta Falcons avoided blowing a 27-6 lead to the Buccaneers.
Here are the updated NFC standings, with the Packers yet to play the Steelers on Sunday night:
#1 - Philadelphia Eagles (10-1)
#2 - Minnesota Vikings (9-2)
#3 - Los Angeles Rams (8-3)
#4 - New Orleans Saints (8-3)
——
#5 - Carolina Panthers (8-3)
#6 - Atlanta Falcons (7-4)
——
#7 - Seattle Seahawks (7-4)
#8 - Detroit Lions (6-5)
#9 - Green Bay Packers (5-5)
#10 - Dallas Cowboys (5-6)
#11 - Washington (5-6)
#12 - Arizona Cardinals (5-6)
#13 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7)
#14 - Chicago Bears (3-8)
#15 - New York Giants (2-9)
#16 - San Francisco 49ers (1-10)
The only help the Seahawks received this weekend was the Lions losing to the Vikings on Thanksgiving, as Seattle improved from 8th to 7th in the standings, but they’re behind the Falcons on the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Next week, Seattle hosts Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football, the Rams travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals, Carolina is at New Orleans, the Falcons are at home to the Vikings, and the Lions are at the Baltimore Ravens.
