Seahawks injury updates: Earl Thomas doubtful for Arizona game, Rees Odhiambo placed on IR

In a bit of unexpected news, Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo has been placed on injured reserve. Odhiambo has evidently been playing with dislocated fingers (yes, plural!) and he will need surgery on both hands. He was Seattle’s starting left tackle since the preseason injury to George Fant, and was inactive for last week’s loss to Washington.

With Odhiambo on IR, defensive end Dion Jordan was activated off the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list and is now part of the 53-man roster. Jordan hasn’t played a snap since 2014, but he’ll be making his return to the field on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals.

Going through more injury news, running back Eddie Lacy is out with a groin injury suffered in the Washington game, so Thomas Rawls will get the start, with C.J. Prosise and JD McKissic presumably as the backups. Earl Thomas is doubtful with his hamstring injury that kept him out last week, so Bradley McDougald will likely get another start at free safety. Rotational pass rusher Marcus Smith was concussed in a collision with K.J. Wright against Washington, and he’s a no-go for this week.

For some less worrying injury news, Sheldon Richardson should be set to play on Thursday after he missed last Sunday with an oblique strain. Paul Richardson had groin tightness but he’s also likely to play, as is Richard Sherman, who was held out of practice with an achilles injury.

Here’s the full injury report for Thursday’s Seahawks-Cardinals contest:
