The 5-3 Seattle Seahawks will have a short turnaround following their shock loss at home to Washington, as they take on the 4-4 Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. It’s the first of two meetings between these two NFC West rivals, and the fifth season in a row that this rivalry has been aired on national television.
This is a must-win for the Seahawks, who are now a game behind the first-place Los Angeles Rams, and in fact they’re not even in a wild card spot as we approach the home stretch of the 2017 NFL season. It’d take a miracle for the Arizona Cardinals to make the playoffs, as they don’t have starting quarterback Carson Palmer, standout running back David Johnson, or star pass rusher Markus Golden. They’ve alternated wins and losses all season, and they’re coming off a 20-10 win over the hapless and winless San Francisco 49ers. Last season, Seattle played to a brutal 6-6 tie at Arizona, then suffered a damaging 34-31 home loss to Bruce Arians’ team as time expired. Seattle will look to get back on track and effectively end Arizona’s feint hopes of a playoff push.
