Richard Sherman injury: Seahawks’ star cornerback appears to say he tore his Achilles

It’s been a bad night for injuries to both the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, and with the third quarter not even completed, Seattle has a potential season-changing injury to its secondary.

Cornerback Richard Sherman gave up an 18-yard pass on 3rd and 11, and went down holding his right leg. He limped off the field and into the medical tent on the Seahawks sideline. Sherman is already listed as doubtful to return, having come into the game questionable with an Achilles injury on that same leg.

What is far more concerning is Sherman’s reaction on the sidelines, and while it’s not confirmed that he mouthed these words, it surely looked like he said “I tore my Achilles.”

Seattle is already without free safety Earl Thomas due to a hamstring problem, and Shaquill Griffin missed a few plays after hurting his shoulder on Arizona’s opening possession of the second half.

The Seahawks lead 15-10, but the final score means very little if the team is going to be without arguably the best corner in the game.
