Colts claim Mark Glowinski off waivers

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

According to Colts.com, Mark Glowinski has been awarded to the Indianapolis Colts after being claimed during the waivers process. Glowinski started 19 total games for the Seattle Seahawks before being cut this last week before the Week 15 match up against the LA Rams. The former fourth round draft pick from 2015 fell out of the starting rotation for Seattle recently as the Seahawks have shuffled their personnel in order to better protect franchise quarterback Russell Wilson.

Glowinski started the 2017 season at right guard before losing his position to Oday Aboushi, while Luke Joeckel secured the left guard position next to Duane Brown. There were some rumors that Seattle’s general manager John Schneider was hoping to retain Glowinski should he remain available. This hope, however, was snuffed today as he was claimed off of waivers by the Colts.

It remains to be seen how this changes the Seahawks plans for the offensive front, but with Schneider unable to re-secure the former starter this could be a sign that the team will need to spend more draft capital after the season, especially if Seattle doesn’t come to a new agreement with Joeckel in the offseason.
