Peyton Manning met with Rams on Monday, could he be joining the front office?

Free agent cornerback Kayvon Webster, a player I’ve highlighted as a sleeper for whichever team signs him, is meeting with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday but according to Webster’s own Instagram feed, he’s not the most interesting or important person apparently meeting with the Rams on Monday. Webster sent out a video of none other than Peyton Manning sitting at a table with someone in a Rams shirt with the wording of “Goat.”

This according to a Reddit post.

No idea what Manning could be doing in the LA facilities, but there were rumors last year that the Rams were going to heavily pursue Manning to be their starting quarterback if he did not retire. Seeing the success that John Elway has had with the Denver Broncos, and their rival San Francisco 49ers going the unconventional route at GM with John Lynch, it’s possible that owner Stan Kroenke wants to do something similar. And current general manager Les Snead is obviously not on thick ice after a half-decade of being unable to build a winner and the team firing head coach Jeff Fisher. It seemed to be that Snead’s job was only safe depending on who the new head coach would be, and that has turned out to be 30-year-old Sean McVay. Potentially Manning could serve as an executive role for a year, see where that takes them, and then re-evaluate the GM position as Elway did with the Broncos.

Peyton Manning doesn’t seem to have any other affiliation (that I know of) with the Rams, but I’m open to other ideas of what this could be about.
