As the dust settles in Philadelphia, the Seattle Seahawks have done the predictable and traded entirely out of the first round. After initially trading down from the 26th pick to the 31st, they made a subsequent deal with the San Francisco 49ers, dropping down to the 34th overall pick while adding a 4th rounder.
The 49ers used pick 31 to draft Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster.
Heading into day two of the draft, there are a ton of big names still available at the top of the second round. With two second round picks and four third round picks, Seattle has some serious ammunition to reload their roster with young talent.
The Seahawks have now moved back a total of 8 selections and picked up an extra 3rd, 4th and 7th round pick.

While it is easy to be impatient when waiting for picks to be announced, the Seahawks are most dangerous when they have a slew of picks to wheel and deal. Supreme draft flexibility is invaluable and Seattle definitely has that this weekend.
Get excited for tomorrow. Everybody is still on the board for Seattle. There’s a reason why John Schneider does this. It’s because he’s good at his job and he knows what he’s doing.
