The Seattle Seahawks used their 35th overall pick on the defensive line by selecting Michigan State’s Malik McDowell, and they went to the offensive line for pick #58. Welcome aboard to LSU’s Ethan Pocic, who was the Tigers’ starting center. He stands an imposing 6’7” and has experience playing at guard and tackle.

If you wanted the Seahawks to address the line early, they’ve done it before round 3, but it’s probably not the pick you were expecting. What does this mean for Justin Britt, whose best season in the NFL was at center? I guess we’ll soon find out. Here’s how Twitter reacted to this selection.

NFL Draft Scout's comp for Ethan Pocic is Justin Britt.

As in how this pick makes me feel. https://t.co/4hOSsP2z0z

A center... can play guard. Seems early for him in my opinion unless they want to move Britt back to guard. https://t.co/9LHgxUh38l

Did I just hear "Tom Cable is a master of offensive linemen"?????

New Seattle O-Lineman Ethan Pocic can play center or guard and he held his own at OT last season in a few games

Interesting to hear Pocic identified as a tackle by Jacob Green. Assume that's where Seattle sees him.

I really, really like the Pocic pick for Seattle. What a great system fit.

Seattle's not paying Britt

I hate this pick. Feel free to save this tweet and haunt me with it. Let a full two rounds go by while strength of draft (CB & S) goes by. https://t.co/eBGvj8luE2

So is our plan for pass protection this season to play "hide the 5'10" QB behind the 6'7" center"?
— bvm (@_BVM) April 29, 2017
Pocic can play 4-5 positions and be solid!

Ethan Pocic is NFL ready...played OC/OG/OT at LSU & unlike so many of the projects SEA has drafted upfront over the years, Pocic is skilled

I think we now have the biggest and the smallest Center in the league on our roster

The Seahawks have no idea what they're doing on the offensive line
