The term “187” is commonly known as the police code for a murder. Did the Seahawks kill it with the 187th pick in the draft? Well, they certainly knocked it out.

With the 187th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Seahawks select Mike Tyson, S, Cincinnati. Whether or not his name will be apt to the type of player he is remains to be seen, but this is what we know about the football player Mike Tyson.

6’1, 204 lbs, he ran a 4.56 at the combine. Video here: Mike Tyson, 40-yard dash. He also had a 33” vertical, 9’8 broad, and 17 reps on the bench. At Cincinnati, he recorded 46 tackles, 4.5 TFL, and five sacks as a senior.

Tyson played some SAM linebacker in college, but initial reports are that he’ll start his career with Seattle as a cornerback.

Some highlights:

Tyson is the third safety and fourth defensive back overall that Seattle has drafted in the last two days. Lest we forget that they also signed Bradley McDougald in free agency and basically expect him to be a starter.
