A broken leg in 2016 left Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas contemplating retirement. But after the Seahawks fell to the Atlanta Falcons in the playoffs, Thomas suddenly became more intent than ever on how he needed to return and make Seattle’s secondary fearsome once again.
The Seahawks “Legion of Boom” secondary instantly turned to “Legion of Oof” after Thomas was replaced by Steven Terrell, ranking in the bottom third in pass coverage without the grandfather of this defense. So we know that Thomas wants to return, but how is his recovery actually going so far?
I don’t think this video exactly clears any of that up, but it does have dramatic music and a voice-over, so that’s ... something?
Thomas appears to be coming along well in his recovery, doing the drills, and I’m not sure how it would look any different than if he had never broken a leg at all. Then again, I ate a full philly cheesesteak in under three minutes last night with a side of pizza fries.
