Three Daily Gull Polls down, about 90 to go.
In case you’re new, this is your spot to drop in daily and partake in a poll without consequences [ed. note: sorry, Soggyblogger] all the way until Game 1 of the distant preseason. Yesterday, we collected your opinions on the defenders drafted last month; today it’s the offensive side’s turn.
And when it comes to new faces on the offense, it’s hard to look past Ethan Pocic. When the OL-hungry Seattle Seahawks took him at 2.59 and he was described as a center, the usual amount of head-scratching occurred, before we found out that his versatility gives him the ability to compete at multiple positions across the line.
If you have the urge to investigate beyond Pocic, there’s more incoming talent. Justin Senior figures to compete immediately at right tackle after starting there for three years at Mississippi State. Senior went to military school and then dealt with pass rushers in the SEC. That’s how he has spent the last eight years of his life. Do you think he might be tough enough for Tom Cable, perhaps? Maybe he even wins the RT job outright. The job is there for the winning.
Amara Darboh and David Moore catch passes. It’s possible one of them could supplant Jermaine Kearse, or cover for another injury to Paul Richardson, or spend a year on the practice squad before breaking out in 2018.
Because there’s space, some Darboh highlights. The second catch — shades of OBJ.
Some of you already like Chris Carson a lot. Show him your love, then.
