Enemy Reaction Special Edition: 2017 NFL Draft

2017 NFL Draft Photo by Jeff Zelevansky/Getty Images

During the 2017 NFL Draft, I asked the Field Gulls comments section if they wanted an Enemy Reaction recapping the entire first round. Judging by the number of recs it received, I’ve been given the green light.

Taking into account number of screenshots compiled, this is the biggest Enemy Reaction in Field Gulls history. The good news is there’s no GIFs to accompany this, so those of you who risk your browser crashing can breathe a sigh of relief. I’ve included not just the draft choices themselves, but also side-by-side reactions for all of the trades, including the two the Seahawks made to drop out of the first round altogether. As a bonus, I’ve slotted in reaction from our NFC West rivals when Seattle drafted Malik McDowell in the second round. The real stars of the show for me are Chicago and Cincinnati, but maybe you have another team in mind.

#1 - Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns, Dawgs By Nature)

#2 - Mitchell Trubisky (Chicago Bears, Windy City Gridiron)

(Side-by-side reaction from Windy City Gridiron and Niners Nation to Chicago giving up 2017 and 2018 third-rounders, as well as a 2017 fourth-rounder to move up one spot. There’s also side-by-side for the actual Trubisky pick)

#3 - Solomon Thomas (San Francisco 49ers, Niners Nation)

#4 - Leonard Fournette (Jacksonville Jaguars, Big Cat Country)

#5 - Corey Davis (Tennessee Titans, Music City Miracles)

#7 - Mike Williams (Los Angeles Chargers, Bolts From The Blue)

#8 - Christian McCaffrey (Carolina Panthers, Cat Scratch Reader)

#9 - John Ross (Cincinnati Bengals, Cincy Jungle)

#11 - Marshon Lattimore (New Orleans Saints, Canal Street Chronicles)

#12 - Deshaun Watson (Houston Texans, Battle Red Blog)

(Battle Red Blog and Dawgs By Nature react to Houston trading up thirteen spots to select Watson, giving up their 2018 first-rounder after already previously giving Cleveland their 2018 second-rounder in the Brock Osweiler trade.)
