The All-Time Seahawk 53, Day 2

Today: the big boys on both sides of the ball

It’s trickier, today.

Yesterday you were polled on backs. Quarterbacks, halfbacks, fullbacks. If there existed a .75back, you would have been polled on them too.

Today we level up. The lines are in play. Both sides. The trenches, where games are lost or won, unless the truism isn’t actually true, which happens a lot to be honest.

Interior linemen, tackles, defensive ends, defensive tackles, with tight ends thrown in for fun because they have to be. You get five polls, and as usual, the Seattle Seahawks shoo-ins are shooed directly in. You won’t be voting on Tez, Walt, or even Joe Nash. Also in automatically: Chris Gray, Jacob Green, Michael Sinclair.

Enough jibber jabber. That’s how you get ants. On to the voting, which is what you came for.

Guards (3 or 4)

Chris Gray already made the team. Congratulations Chris. Lots of other men besides Chris played guard for the Seahawks. Methodology note: I whittled it down by setting two standards for inclusion in the poll — at least four years spent in Seattle and at least 15 AV generated.

Tackles (3 or 4)

Walter Jones? WHERE IS WALTER oh yeah he’s already on the team, doofus. Same admittance standards to the poll as above: four years and 15 AV.

Tight Ends (3)

The history of Seahawks tight ends is... mixed at best. I hesitate to add Jimmy Graham to the poll after only a season and a half in Seattle, but he does hold some important franchise records already, and is the only TE from here to ever make a Pro Bowl, so my hands are tied, like on that catch he made last season. Standards? They are low. Five years or 12 AV accumulated is enough to buy you entrance into the poll.

Defensive ends (4 or 5)

Jacob Green and Michael Sinclair are shoo-ins with their 97.5 and 73.5 career sacks, respectively, which ranks them nos. 1 and 2 in franchise history. Let’s add a few more from this fearsome list.
