NFL Shop appears to be geographically inept, puts the Redskins in state of Washington

Seattle Seahawks v Washington Redskins

The NFL Shop has already taken this down, but the internet sure as hell doesn’t forget mistakes like this one.

If you wanted to buy a Washington Redskins custom license plate for $29.99 to show off you state pride, you’ll have to wait until the NFL actually figures out the correct part of the country they play in, because it sure as hell isn’t the state of Washington.

Even worse is that apparently this mistake has gone unnoticed on more than one product for over a month.

This is an unacceptable geographical mistake. An MMA promotion once had a hilarious mix-up thinking Tacoma was in our nation’s capital, but the NFL’s official shop is/was selling fans pure fiction.

I understand that Washington DC has not experienced a championship-winning team since the Redskins won Super Bowl XXVI in 1992, but is this unexpected cross-country relocation to be in-state rivals with the Seahawks really necessary? If Seattle eliminates Washington in the playoffs again, does that mean they have to move back to FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland? So many unanswered questions here.

At least it’s a short trip for Washington when they travel to CenturyLink Field later this season. I’m not sure how they’ll be able to get away with still playing in the NFC East, though.
