Taking a break from plays of the year to ask you which team will suck.
The question is not, “which team will pick first?” because trades happen. The question is, who will secure the top 2018 pick by winning the fewest games?
Certain teams have been eliminated because to pick them would be a troll job. I speak, of course, of the Chiefs, Cowboys, Falcons, Raiders, Packers, Patriots, Seahawks and Steelers. The only way one of those teams is going 2-14 or 3-13 is through unforeseeable injury to multiple key components. They averaged -- averaged! -- 11.6 wins last season.
But let’s put everyone else out there. The Broncos could implode, the Panthers are weird, the Cardinals might miss a lot of talent, especially if Carson Palmer starts to slide. Probably all three of those teams will end at .500 or above. Counterpoint: parity.
Two polls, then, today. One with everyone eligible, and one with just the 10 or so teams expected to be the worst, those bereft of talent either at quarterback or at other crucial positions.
