Pete Carroll is who he said he is

Hello everyone, with all the talk about football philosophy changing around the league, and whether the Seahawks are falling behind as a result, I was reminded of some things coach Carroll said a few years ago. Penned by Danny Kelly back in 2014, the Seahawks physical, punishing run game is a great reminder of who Pete Carroll is and how his philosophy and identity at the core haven't changed.

I remember reading this article after the super bowl win and being excited at the chance for continued success as a result. I believe the team has done some great things since but in the last couple years I felt the "always compete" and the idea that the Seahawks were going to dictate the game on their terms because that's just what they did, had been lost somewhere.

For me this year has been a relief. We are seeing who they are and it matches what the coaches are saying. I still look forward to checking the players stat lines. I love reading that Wilson threw for 300+ yds and multiple td's or that ADB had a ton of receiving yds. But there is something so satisfying in watching the seahawks just kick the snot out of under other team.

I hope you read the old article. It definitely put a smile on my face.

Sincerely,

Ryan
