Fast Facts: Seahawks fourth quarter offense delivers again versus Panthers

New, comments
NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks offense started the season in a funk, unable to take advantage of the first nine opportunities the team had to tie or take the lead when handed the ball in the fourth quarter down one score. That finally changed in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, and Russell Wilson didn’t let that slow down in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.

Against the Panthers Russell was handed the reigns and the ball at the 25 yard line with the score at 27-20 and 6:57 left on the clock. The result - a seven play, 75 yard drive that ended on a 35 yard touchdown pass to David Moore, his fourth scoring catch of the day.

In any case, I am happy to once again provide an update on the table of fourth quarter drives that started with the Seahawks down one score and a chance to tie or take the lead.

11 Packers 8:23 4 7 plays, 75 yards Touchdown
12 Panthers 6:57 4 7 plays, 75 yards Touchdown

To head off the question before it pops up, neither of the drives that ended in a Sebastian Janikowski field goal are in the table because neither fit the criteria. The first field goal came on a drive that started in the third quarter, and the game winner came on a drive that started with the score tied rather than with the Hawks trailing. That is why those two drives are not listed here.
