On Sunday the Seattle Seahawks went in to the home of the Carolina Panthers and helped their playoff chances dramatically with a 30-27 victory, their second road win of the season on a game ending field goal by Sebastian Janikowksi.
The Panthers offense played horrifically and the Seattle defense stepped up repeatedly in the red zone, which kept the Seahawks in the game until it was time for Russell Wilson to squeeze in one more fourth quarter comeback in his twenties. It wasn’t that long ago that Wilson was a plucky, young rookie who came in and unseated the presumed starter, free agent signee Matt Flynn, but he is now the fifth oldest member of the Seahawks 53 man roster (he is sixth oldest if one wishes to count Kam Chancellor).
In any case, let’s get to what Twitter thought of the Seahawks victory.
Defense has cost the Panthers the playoffs.

Seahawks final 5 drives:
75 yards - TD
80 yards - TD
63 yards - FG
75 yards - TD
46 yards - FG
One stop and Panthers win but defense let the team down.
JR Sweezy said it was obvious Panthers were focused on stopping run. Seahawks knew they were gonna have to throw to win. https://t.co/goBs355mKl

That officially counts as another Red Zone Possession for the #Panthers. #Seahawks have held them on downs, then FG, then TD, then FG, then INT.
— Aaron Levine (@AaronQ13Fox) November 25, 2018
The two highest EPA plays of Seahawks @ Panthers were both Russell Wilson passes to David Moore.
— Magnus Bendixen (@BendixenNFL) November 25, 2018
The Seahawks got Chris Carson and David Moore in the 7th round of the same draft
Fantastic catch by David Moore and it's now a tie game between the Seahawks & Panthers! #SEAvsCAR pic.twitter.com/z3VlkgD550

In the Fumbles Go To Seattle universe, the Seahawks lead by two touchdowns. In the Carolina Converts Short Third Downs universe, the Panthers lead by double figures. Our universe suddenly seems fair.

Panthers kick is N G D!!
— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) November 25, 2018
We've got 1:40 left to take this one! #SEAvsCAR
I don't care what anyone says, Seahawks vs Panthers should be a yearly primetime game because they never disappoint.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) November 25, 2018
But let’s get some reactions to specific pieces of the game, but first let me go through a series of photos of Chris Carson giving everyone a heart attack.

player reactions to Chris Carson's flip: https://t.co/oTjf3ZcHCV
Chris Carson's mom wasn't as thrilled with that somersault, land, keep-running trick as #Seahawks, you were. Plus Brian Schottenheimer dials up right play against right Panther at exactly the right time, Doug Baldwin plays thru pain https://t.co/vG1oKMAXtg @thenewstribune

CHRIS CARSON CAN FLY!!!!
— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) November 25, 2018
Chris Carson said Panthers were so obviously keyed on the Seattle running game that "they called out a couple of our plays.'' Seattle had a 14-12 run-pass ratio in first half but 19-12 pass-run ratio in second.
— Bob Condotta (@bcondotta) November 25, 2018
#Seahawks center Justin Britt on Chris Carson's leap/flip: "It went from 'oh (shoot)' to, 'oh daaaamn.'"... but he didn't say shoot.
— John Boyle (@johnpboyle) November 25, 2018
In addition to how impressive Chris Carson has been, the Seahawks other 2017 seventh round draft choice, David Moore, has been impressive as well so far in 2018.
this has been, and will remain, a david moore hype account
— Danny Kelly (@DannyBKelly) November 25, 2018
Plays we absolutely cannot forget about:
— Evan Hill (@EvanonHB) November 25, 2018
-Bradley McDougald's insane interception
-Tre Flower's clutch 3rd down tackle
-David Moore's one handed catch
TOUCHDOWN DAVID MOORE!!!
— Samuel Gold (@SamuelRGold) November 25, 2018
- Great placement by Russell Wilson on this fade route up the sideline.
- Good strength by Moore to keep the DB off of him
- Good concentration to bring it in.
- Tied the game 27-27!#Seahawks #SEAvsCARpic.twitter.com/kafgiqNdh4
fun fact depending on your perspective: david moore now has as many 100-yard games with the Seahawks (1) as either Paul Richardson or Jermaine Kearse did.
— Field Gulls (@FieldGulls) November 26, 2018
I have not adequately expressed my appreciation for David Moore enough today.
— Jessamyn McIntyre (@JessamynMcIntyr) November 25, 2018
David Moore is great.
Another offseason concern: "Nobody will replace the production of Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson"
— Field Gulls (@FieldGulls) November 26, 2018
Tyler Lockett is already +100 from last season
David Moore has over 400 yards in last 8 games (could match Richardson's 703)
They've almost matched their 2017 rushing total already
Taking a shot on 4th and short = badass
— Alistair Corp (@AlistairCorp) November 25, 2018
David Moore = total badass
4 catches for 103 yards and this TD for Gainesville's David Moore today in the Seahawks' win over Carolina https://t.co/ZgWGv2kg17

That’s enough about the Hawks 2017 7th rounders, though. Let’s talk about their 2015 third round receiver, who happens to be really, really good.

"Shoutout to Janikowski for being a stone-cold killer," Justin Britt said. "We knew as soon as Tyler (Lockett) caught that ball, we're taking the knee and we're going to kick and win and go home.

Tyler Lockett was targeted 5 times today.
— Bevens and Nature Sing (@JacsonBevens) November 25, 2018
5 catches, 107 yards, TD.
He remains the highest rated WR in the NFL.
Per Over the Cap, Tyler Lockett ranks 21st in receiver pay. And that will only get lower as new deals are signed.

Unfortunately, Russell Wilson-to-Tyler Lockett has not been very effective this season. Out of 54 targets to Lockett, 11 have gone incomplete, whereas the other 43 have only gained 661 yards, 8 TDs, and a rating of 157.25. What happened on those other 11 plays????

Me: Tyler the Touchdown Creator
All Tyler Lockett does is catch touchdowns except for all those other big plays and all those third down conversions, it's cool when all of those overlap too
— mike (@SeahawkScout) November 25, 2018
Then, at the end of the day, it all came down to two field goal attempts. First for the Panthers from Graham Gano.

Graham Gano misses the 52 yard field goal. Ugh.
— Cat Scratch Reader (@CatScratchReadr) November 25, 2018
In a close game, the margin between victory and defeat was Corn Elder and Captain Munnerlyn. Or Graham Gano. Pick your poison.
— Edgar Salmingo, Jr. (@PanthersAnalyst) November 25, 2018
RR expresses confidence in Graham Gano. Says he’s still their guy next time they’re in that situation.
— Joe Person (@josephperson) November 25, 2018
I suppose someone could call the Panthers front office and let them know All Pro kicker Blair Walsh is a free agent.
And then for the Seahawks from Sebastian Janikowski.
Blair Walsh broke us.
— Parker Lewis (@ParkerLewisJR) November 25, 2018
Our fan base is still suffering from Blair Walsh flashbacks #SEAHAWKS
— Steve Lawlis (@stevelawlis) November 25, 2018
Sebastian Janikowski good from 31 yards. #Seahawks win 30-27.
— John Boyle (@johnpboyle) November 25, 2018
Despite my early doubts, the Magic of Seabass had turned into a hyperbolic reflector of the Blair Walsh Curse, and I could not be happier about it.
— *IfediWAP* / HotSchotts: 6-5/ #GoHawks (@SMBLOB) November 25, 2018
31 yards by Sebastian Janikowski is good. #Seahawks jumping up and down all over the field, Russell Wilson into Duane Brown's arms, Seattle wins it on the final play! 30-27 at Carolina, SEA (6-5) now in control of making the playoffs with 5 games left, next one Sun vs SF
— Gregg Bell (@gbellseattle) November 25, 2018
That’s enough for now, as it’s back to Seattle to take on the San Francisco 49ers who come to town in Week 13.
