The Seattle Seahawks (4-3) finally return home to CenturyLink Field for a major inter-conference showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers (5-2), who figure to be a playoff contender in the AFC.
Seattle has won four of its last five, with that one defeat coming by two points against the undefeated Los Angeles Rams. As for the Chargers, their only losses have been to the Rams and AFC-leading Kansas City Chiefs. A little fun fact for Seahawks fans to note is that Russell Wilson has never lost at home to any AFC opponent, although the Seahawks did lose at the Chargers in 2014, so Russ has a chance to make this the 29th team he’s prevailed against. On the other side is the great Phillip Rivers, perhaps making his final appearance in Seattle, with a record of 1-1 at CLink and 2-1 overall.
It should be a high-energy, emotional day in Seattle, as this is the Seahawks’ first home game since the deaths of owner Paul Allen and former head coach Jack Patera. It’d be great to honor them both with a vital win towards a playoff push.
