Updated Report: Mike Davis visiting Rams Monday

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks non-tendered restricted free agent running back Mike Davis, making him an unrestricted free agent free to sign with any team. After meeting with the Detroit Lions last week, Detroit opted instead to sign LeGarrette Blount, leaving Davis still looking for an employer. According to his Twitter account, it appears he may be back on the West Coast visiting with another prospective employer.

It remains to be seen whether Davis is meeting with either the Los Angeles Rams or the Los Angeles Chargers while he’s there, or if he’s there for completely different reasons. It’s entirely possible he’s in L.A. to work out with Russell Wilson or perhaps to talk Ndamukong Suh out of signing with the Rams.

Both the Chargers or Rams could be looking for depth in the backfield behind 2015 first round draft picks Melvin Gordon (1.15) and Todd Gurley (1.10), so a visit to either would not be a huge surprise. If Davis were to somehow end up with the Rams, it would be his third NFC West team in past year, having been cut by the San Francisco 49ers last may before spending the 2017 season with the Seahawks.

I’ll work to keep everyone updated if any more detail behind Davis’ visit to L.A. emerges.

UPDATE:

I promised I would keep you all updated on this situation, so we can now report what Mr. Davis is doing in L.A.
