The Seattle Seahawks officially announced on Friday that cornerback Richard Sherman has been released from the team, as Seattle looks to free up cap space for the start of 2018 free agency.

We start off with the statement from the Seahawks organization thanking Sherman for his tremendous contributions over the past seven years.

The Seahawks later compiled this remarkable video tribute to #25, and it’s worth every moment of your time... and hopefully you have 2 minutes and 40 seconds to spare just to watch this.

His release has already garnered reaction from Seahawks players past and present, and presumably will continue to pour in throughout the weekend. We’ll update this post when more social media posts come in, but here’s what current Seahawks have already written.

(That’s WR David Moore, by the way)

A couple of former Seahawks also chimed in, and maybe we should pay a little attention to Oakland Raiders LB Bruce Irvin, whose emoji use seems to hint that he’d love to reunite with Sherman down in Northern California.
