2018 NFL Draft: 60 potential Day 3 targets for the Seahawks

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Jacksonville Jaguars Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Draft day used to be a boring bundle of randomness, but then Pete Carroll and John Schneider came along and made it interesting. More specifically, reading Fieldgulls and Seahawksdraftblog educated me on the trends and evident criteria that Pete and John were using to build their draft board.

No longer was the draft a cacophony of names that could be chosen at any time. Now I had a way to narrow down the chaos and focus on specific players that seemed to be possible targets. I’m not saying any one of my drafts will be close or even have more than one correct player, but I knew that if I did enough drafts and enough players, that I probably would have gotten to know multiple players that we end up drafting.

Speaking of which, here is my last mock draft and who I would take.

And here’s my last one based on who I think the Seahawks would take.

Draft crushes are also formed along the way, which makes draft days so much more enjoyable as I root for my guys and cry when some asshat team drafts them. Either way, since I am done with mocks and we are ready to get this started, I thought I would share the resources that I enjoy following on draft day. They allow me to do instant research and root for and understand what is going on.

I shouldn’t have to say it, but the live blogging on Fieldgulls and Seahawksdraftblog are an excellent place to start and will really help you keep up with what is happening.

I also enjoy following:

www.draftscout.com/members/index.php

https://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker/prospects

They each have different takes on players and what is happening but can help fill in the big picture of what is going on.

Our own Alistair Corp also has this excellent big board based on measurements and what Seattle typically looks for under Pete and John:

Lastly, I thought I would consolidate all of the players I have looked at over the last couple of months into one page. I have them broken up into theoretical target rounds, but prognosticators are wrong way more than right, so think plus or minus two rounds for all the guys.
