The Seattle Seahawks drafted Shaquill Griffin in the third-round of last year’s NFL Draft, and the presumptive #1 cornerback will be playing with his twin brother Shaquem Griffin, whom the Seahawks snagged with the 141st overall pick this year.
Shaquem was a standout linebacker at Central Florida, and the expectation is he’ll be an outside linebacker on the Seahawks roster. It’s a truly awesome moment to see the Griffin brothers reunited. Shaquem had his left hand amputated as a child, but despite the physical disability, he persevered and became one of the best defensive players in all of college football, and shined at the NFL combine.
You should be excited for this draft pick, and how can you not get emotional watching these videos of Shaquem getting the call from John Schneider and Pete Carroll? Here’s the first one.

As it turns out, Shaquem was in the bathroom when the phone rang, and there’s a funny story behind what happened leading up to the call.
Shaquem Griffin was in his hotel-room bathroom in TX when #Seahawks called to draft him, reunite him with his twin. Shaquill saw call, the 425 area code for Renton/Seahawks HQ, ran into bathroom and there, at the toilet, tackled Shaquem. https://t.co/lWVRYV9u6K

Awesome story (continued): Shaquem Griffin says "I was actually using the bathroom" when #Seahawks called to draft him. Twin Shaquill saw the Renton/Seahawks HQ area code, ran in "and tackled me." @thenewstribune

What a great day for the Griffin family.
