In a strange twist of fate, I am here in the Dominican Republic for an event called #DRGolf2018 with less than a week to go before the start of the season. Yesterday I golfed at Punta Espada Golf Club, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus and considered to be perhaps the best in the Caribbean and Mexico. A top-100 course in the world, which is weird for me since I am very, very bad at golf. (And it showed, trust me.)
Still, I must go on with coverage of the Seattle Seahawks even while I’m staying at a beautiful resort in the DR, because that’s something I am better at than golf. I think. I hope.
Today, I did a Facebook Live Q and A from the balcony of my room at Secrets Cap Cana in Punta Cana, DR. Secrets is a prepossessing getaway in Punta Cana with five incredible restaurants, endless daytime and nighttime activities, pool and beach side service, and many affordable suites alongside their luxury bungalows. For me, it’s all about non-stop dining and drinking, which I’ve taken FULL advantage of with the all-inclusive stay. I highly recommend Secrets Cap Cana in addition to the gorgeous surroundings of the Dominican Republic. I had no idea just how stunning this landscape could be.
I babbled for a moment before some questions rolled in and we talked about the situation at running back with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, the Earl Thomas holdout and where that stands, and why I’m optimistic about Seattle’s chances to make the playoffs. There are plenty of reasons to think the Seahawks will return to the postseason and at least a lot to be interested in as things kickoff on Sunday in Denver against the Broncos.
Watch the Q and A below and then if you haven’t already, like Field Gulls on Facebook for more. At the very least, check out this view!
