The Seattle Seahawks have not been allowed to have consistently healthy running backs for about three years running, and coming off a 100-yard rushing day against the Dallas Cowboys, Chris Carson is not going to be available for Sunday’s divisional road game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Carson was listed as questionable during the week with a hip injury, and now we know that he won’t play. This is a major opportunity for Rashaad Penny, who has just 43 yards on 20 carries, to get on track in his rookie season. C.J. Prosise is also active, having been listed as doubtful on Friday, so that’s a pleasant surprise. I suspect Mike Davis will be Penny’s backup, though.
Defensive linemen Dion Jordan and Rasheem Green are both out, so Seattle’s front four depth is really going to be stretched.
On the plus side, Doug Baldwin is active and so is Justin Britt, so the inactives list is not exactly good, but some key Seahawks are returning.
