Though K.J. Wright and D.J. Fluker were expected to miss the Seattle Seahawks’ first game of the season, and will, Nazair Jones’ name is a surprise addition.
The second year defensive tackle played much better than expected in his rookie year, and was presumably set for another year in a rotational role. At least initially, it appears as though Jones is the odd man out in a deep group of defensive tackles.
Another surprising name to see was Mike Davis, who appeared to have won the third down back competition in preseason. Instead, C.J. Prosise gets the nod on game day.
Here’s the full list of inactives for Seattle’s first game of the 2018 season.
Seahawks inactives: Jones, Davis, Wright, Fluker, Shalom Luani, Poona Ford, Jordan Simmons
