It’s been nearly a full week since Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly collapsed with a torn Achilles suffered in the team’s Week 6 win over the Cleveland Browns. Some fans had begun to wonder why the team hadn’t moved him to injured reserve yet, even after the completion of surgery to repair the injury. However, the wait for that move is now over.
The #Seahawks added DT Jarran Reed, who has been suspended, to the active roster and placed TE Will Dissly (Achilles) on Injured Reserve.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 19, 2019
So, in addition to the team finally moving Dissly from the 53 man roster to injured reserve, defensive tackle Jarran Reed has also been moved from the Commissioner’s Exempt list to the 53 man roster. That mean, as everyone has suspected all week, that Reed is likely to see the field, and hopefully will provide a boost to the team’s pass rush which has been less than stellar. That boost could be needed in particular against the Baltimore Ravens if Quinton Jefferson is unable to play due to an oblique injury which has him listed as questionable for the game.
It will be an interesting wait for the inactives report.
