The Seattle Seahawks opened the season hot, in part because of the phenomenal play of second year tight end Will Dissly. Unfortunately, a torn Achilles tendon in Week 6 ended a second season in a row for Dissly, and left the Hawks with very little depth at the position following the trade of Nick Vannett to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, with a Week 8 contest against the Atlanta Falcons set for this weekend, Ed Dickson, who went on injured reserve prior to Week 1, is set to return to practice.
Carroll: Ed Dickson will come back to practice next week. Based on what I'm seeing, he's gonna be practicing to play. #Seahawks— Aaron Levine (@AaronQ13Fox) October 23, 2019
The Seahawks don’t have to add Dickson to the 53 man roster right away, as they can allow him to practice and make sure he is in shape and ready to go before officially bringing him back. However, with only Luke Willson and Jacob Hollister currently at the position for Seattle, the additional depth and experience that Dickson brings will be a welcome addition.
