Seahawks could be the catalyst again in Dan Quinn’s coaching career

The Atlanta Falcons are on the ropes this season at 1-6 and have multiple starting players on both offense and defense who are questionable for Sunday’s game. David Walker of the Falcoholic joined the Field Gulls Podcast to preview Sunday’s Week 8 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons

On the offensive side of the football we talk about Matt Ryan, who is second only to Phillip Rivers for consecutive NFL starts, and how he could miss his first game after 154 straight starts. If he can’t go, Matt Schaub would take over the starting role for Atlanta. Schaub has only started six games since the 2013 game with the Seahawks, when Richard Sherman’s interception helped Seattle tie the game against the Texans and ultimately win in overtime. Schaub’s record is 1-5 as a starter since that game, winning a Week 12 game for the Baltimore Ravens in Cleveland 33-27.

Falcons coach, and former Seahawks defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn has been taking a lot of heat lately. Atlanta is 31 in the league in average points allowed (31.9) and Miami (35.2) is the only team who is giving up more.

With the Falcons bye week coming up, David said he predicted earlier in the season that if Atlanta went into the bye week with only one win that Quinn could be fired. Tune into the episode for the discussion and the plea to keep Coach Quinn on beyond this week.
