The flu has come to Monday Night Football. On Sunday night, the New England Patriots were taken down by the Houston Texans. The loss came amidst an interesting story that the Patriots were so sick they took two separate planes in effort to keep the contagion from spreading.
With an illness sweeping the locker room this week, the Patriots did something uncommon in traveling to Houston: the team flew in two planes, one to accommodate those who were sick and keep others away from them. Nine players are questionable because of the sickness.

With recent reports coming out, the Seattle Seahawks seem to be struggling with the same bug. Adam Schefter claims that around eight different Seahawks have been sick with the flu this past week, most notably Tyler Lockett.
Roughly eight Seahawks were battling the flu the past week leading up to tonight’s game against Minnesota, including WRs Tyler Lockett and David Moore, per sources. None of the Seahawks with the flu were listed on the injury report, so Seattle expects them all to play tonight.

One wonders if the plague cost New England the game against Houston, and one hopes that Seattle is not in for a similar fate. We’ve heard nothing thus far about any similar precautionary measures taken by Pete Carroll, and it being a home game for Seattle can only help manage rest and recovery.
It’s odd, though that Schefter claims none of the Seahawks were on the injury report, as multiple different sources seem to highlight that it did affect multiple players throughout the week. We’ve got a couple of hours to see how everyone feels come game time. This was already shaping up to be a very tough matchup against a talented Minnesota Vikings team, and Seattle hopes to be at full strength for MNF.
