After losing in the Wild Card round of the 2018 NFL Playoffs the Seattle Seahawks held pick 21 in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday evening. However, as they have done in years past, John Schneider and Pete Carroll dealt the pick to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for pick 30 and two extra fourth round picks. When Pick 30 arrived the Hawks again moved back, this time to pick 37 in a trade with the New York Giants that yielded an extra fourth and fifth round selection for the team.

That gave the team a total of nine draft picks after having started the day with only five picks. However, Pete and John weren’t done yet, and when pick 37 arrived, they moved down for a third time, this time in a trade with the Carolina Panthers. In order to move up those ten spots, the Panthers sent Seattle another third round pick, pick 77. That gives the Hawks two third round picks on the day, but most importantly, when pick 47 arrived, the Seahawks finally drafted a player.

At pick 47 in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Seahawks selected safety Maruqise Blair out of Utah.
