The Seattle Seahawks announced their 2019 NFL preseason schedule on Tuesday. This is their four-game slate, beginning sometime between August 8-11 at home:
Week 1: Seattle Seahawks host Denver Broncos
Week 2: Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings
Week 3: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers
Week 4: Seattle Seahawks host Oakland Raiders
The exact dates and times have yet to be announced. The Seahawks had four preseason games last year and they won some of them and lost some of them, maybe. I don’t remember because it does not matter. It never matters. Preseason results don’t matter. The stats don’t matter. The scores don’t matter. Great teams go 0-4. Awful teams go 4-0. But what does matter is giving players an opportunity to display a little bit of what they do in a game situation and coaches a chance to try and evaluate them based on that play despite the fact that they are often going up against other players who won’t make final 53-man rosters.
Some would say that the preseason should be reduced to two games or zero games, but as of now the NFL continues to go with four. Because people still watch them. Still buy the tickets. And still read these posts.
Go preseason Hawks.
