It's official: Seahawks sign Ziggy Ansah

NFL: Detroit Lions at Oakland Raiders Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

Fans of the Seattle Seahawks have been waiting for days for the official confirmation of what has been rumored for several days, the signing of defensive end Ziggy Ansah, formerly of the Detroit Lions. Well, that wait is finally over, as the Hawks have indeed officially added Ansah to the team’s roster this Friday afternoon.

So, there it is from the Seahawks themselves, with Ansah looking like he just won the Masters. In any case, Hawks fans will be happy to see that the team has taken this step to address the need at pass rush following the trade of Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether the team adds another rusher or not remains to be seen, and while the exact terms of his contract have not yet been made public, once those are available we will review them here.

In order to make room for Ansah on the roster the team has released Nate Orchard, who had just been signed at the beginning of April, in the lead up to offseason workouts.
