Since Friday the Seattle Seahawks have addressed issues on the defensive line through the addition of multiple free agents. They started by signing defensive end Ziggy Ansah, formerly of the Detroit Lions, and then continued Monday with the official announcment on defensive tackle Al Woods, joining the team after spendin the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. This had left some fans wondering what the status of former first round pick Dion Jordan was, and now there is an answer.
Dion Jordan is being suspended 10 games for violating the PED policy by taking Adderall. But the former No. 3 overall draft pick tells me he remains committed to his sobriety, and football. https://t.co/fymyp2J1wv

In short, Jordan is reportedly facing another suspension for yet another violation of league substance abuse rules. If he is indeed suspended, this would be his fourth suspension, with the prior three having already cost him 22 games. According to the report from NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, this suspension it for PEDs (performance enhancing drug) for using Adderall while knowing his therapeutic exemption had expired, and it will cost him ten games.
For fans, this helps explain why there hasn’t much, if any, news at all regarding his market as a free agent this offseason, in spite of multiple teams still needing help from the position. Whether the Seahawks remain interested in his services going forward is certainly something worth watching, but if Ansah’s surgically repaired shoulder doesn’t hold up as well as the Hawks hope, Jordan could become an option down the stretch once his suspension is over.
