First off, I know I owe you guys the Enemy Reaction: Doug Baldwin tribute that is well overdue, and I apologize for that. I’ve been fairly busy both with work and other non-work projects in recent weeks, but I can assure you it will get done soon.
Now on the topic of Enemy Reaction, I’ve done some offseason special editions over the past couple of years to keep the series fresh and interesting before the start of the regular season. I’ve done some classic Seahawks wins, as well as uh... this game. There have been tributes, draft compilations, and everything else in between.
So from June until the regular season starts, I’m opening the floor to you guys. The Field Gulls community has braced this series for ten years — eight years under the current format, soon-to-be three years as a front page fixture — and it’s one of the few things I’m genuinely proud of. It’s only fair that the readers get some input on what special throwback Enemy Reactions they want to see throughout this offseason.
I’m open to just about anything, including remastered versions of old ones I previously did (such as Seahawks vs. Patriots in 2012, back when I only highlighted good plays by the Seahawks). If you want to go back to the Mike Holmgren era — really 2006-2008 because Field Gulls didn’t exist in 2005 — I’m all for it. The lime green jersey game from the Jim Mora season? Sure, if you’re into that. Russell Wilson’s first start? It ended in a loss but that’s not a disqualifying factor. Hell, due to a cross-country move, I never actually did the Seahawks 42 49ers 13 game from 2012.
Keep in mind that Enemy Reaction thrives mostly off of game thread screenshots, so I will have to check through the archives to make sure it’s even feasible, but if it is, then that’s basically a green light.
Leave your requests in the comments section or tweet me @mookiealexander and I’ll pick the best handful and get to work starting next month. Whether it’s a Seahawks win, a loss, or highlighting the best of a specific player, I’m all ears.
In the meantime, be on the lookout for the Enemy Reaction: Doug Baldwin tribute.
