As expected, the Seattle Seahawks were able to keep recently acquired (then waived) slot cornerback Parry Nickerson.
The team signed Nickerson to its 10-man practice squad on Wednesday. Nickerson was traded from the New York Jets to Seattle on August 31st for a 2021 conditional 7th round pick. Drafted in the 6th round back in 2018, Nickerson played in all 16 games last season, including two starts in place of the injured Buster Skrine.
He figured to be in consideration for the nickel spot in the Seahawks secondary, but when Seattle opted to bring back Jamar Taylor, Nickerson was waived with the hope that he would clear waivers and be re-signed to the practice squad. This also fills the void left by Washington signing CB Simeon Thomas from Seattle’s practice squad, so now that’s all taken care of.
The updated Seahawks practice squad is as follows:
WR Terry Wright
WR Jazz Ferguson
TE Jacob Hollister
QB Cardale Jones
G Jordan Roos
G Kahlil McKenzie
G/C Kyle Fuller
DB Parry Nickerson
S Ryan Neal
DE Jachai Polite
