Seahawks are 2-0 for first time in six years, twitter rejoices

As I wrote last week, 2-0 would carry significant implications for the Seattle Seahawks. By beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, that did make the Seahawks 2-0 for the first time since 2013 and only the second time since 2006. Nearly 73% of 2-0 teams since 1990 have made the playoffs. It is also the best two-game start of Russell Wilson’s career.

Twitter reacted to the positive result.

Other 2-0 teams include the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, and San Francisco 49ers. So far, there are more results yet to come.

The Seahawks host the New Orleans Saints next week, a team that is going for 2-0 against the LA Rams at the time of this writing. The Saints are playing without quarterback Drew Brees at the moment, meaning that Teddy Bridgewater could be the quarterback starting next week if Brees is unable to go from an injured throwing hand.

Seattle started 4-0 in 2013.
