The Seattle Seahawks (2-0) are back at home for a Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints (1-1), as Seattle looks to go to 3-0 for the first time since the 2013 super Bowl season.
This was a highly anticipated matchup when the schedule came out. Unfortunately for the Saints, Drew Brees’ thumb injury means he’ll miss several weeks, so the Seahawks defense will face Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill instead. Whoever is under center for New Orleans will have to contend with a defensive line that will boast the debut of Ziggy Ansah and the return of Poona Ford.
As for the Seahawks offense, they looked outstanding against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Russell Wilson throwing for 300 yards and 3 TDs, while Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny combined for well over 100 yards on the ground (the latter getting a 37-yard TD). Penny won’t play today, so it could be a day for C.J. Prosise and/or Travis Homer to get some reps in. The Saints secondary is a clear question mark, but their pass rush led by Cam Jordan should provide a serious test for Seattle’s o-line.
