The #FanPulse results are in this week and fans of the Seattle Seahawks have seen their confidence dip to about 50/50 following a home loss to Teddy Bridgewater and the Saints. And honestly, with more time to think about it, the more I think that’s completely unfair.
Though Bridgewater’s “advanced” numbers were ugly — he had the fewest air yards per attempt in the NFL, meaning that New Orleans barely even had a passing offense that day — it must have been annoying for the Seahawks to game plan for him. You’d think that Drew Brees would be a tougher matchup, and of course he is in nearly every respect, but at least you knew what you were getting with Brees.
Seattle could only make their best guess with Bridgewater and ultimately they couldn’t do enough against him and certainly not against Alvin Kamara. The mistakes aside, I wonder if the Seahawks also lost in part because of a blessing in disguise. But maybe that’s just me being hyper-optimistic, which only about half of us are doing at this point.
Seahawks fan confidence:
Seattle faces the Arizona Cardinals this week and that fan confidence is down to about 30% after a home loss to the previously winless Carolina Panthers. Not that fan confidence has been especially high at any point this year though, so there’s more room to go up than down.
Cardinals fan confidence:
The national question of the week had to do with the winless teams. I don’t think any of these teams are making the playoffs but honestly have you seen the Steelers? They’re AWFUL. They’re not making the playoffs, I don’t think. The Ravens will have to fall apart first.
