The Seattle Seahawks offense has struggled to get on track against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they have managed two touchdown drives that featured key plays from rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.
Seattle’s second-round pick’s first NFL catch was the least consequential of his three receptions, as he was short on a third down conversion.
Here's DK Metcalf's first catch in the NFL. Slant route versus man coverage. Good catch to the ground, just couldn't get the first down unfortunately. #Seahawks pic.twitter.com/29woIMnDzk

However, Metcalf had a 16-yard grab on a slant route that kept the chains moving for Seattle’s first TD drive, and later drew a pass interference penalty in the end zone that set up Carson’s one-yard score.
Another slant route catch for #Seahawks DK Metcalf! Watch the route:

- Hard jab and then vertical burst to gain inside leverage
- Smooth jab and flat cut inside
- First down! pic.twitter.com/iI7Yut2WAD
His best play thus far was his first deep ball grab of his young career. Russell Wilson lofted it deep downfield and he was able to haul in the pass in stride and get inside Cincinnati’s 20-yard line.
What a BEAUTY!

A 4️⃣2️⃣ yard catch for @dkm14! #CINvsSEA pic.twitter.com/wrSYFNdD1Q
Metcalf has 3 catches for 64 yards and a DPI drawn. His only real blemish was an offensive pass interference that was pretty sketchy to call, and the pass was incomplete anyway.
