This is in the same year that Wagner is a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. (Go vote!) As far as on the field honors go, Wagner was named an All-Pro by the AP, All-NFL by the PFWA and a Pro Bowler.
The Alan Page Community Award nominees are pulled specifically from all NFL players who were an NFLPA weekly Community MVP at some point in the season. Wagner earned that particular honor during Thanksgiving, when he volunteered at a Safeway and then stayed an extra half hour in order to purchase groceries for the entire store.
Feel free to come by my Fred Meyer sometime, Wagner. I’ll vote for you.
