Sunday the Seattle Seahawks will face off against the Arizona Cardinals in the first division game of the season for the Hawks. The Cardinals enter the game tied with the Los Angeles Rams at 4-2, however, the Cards are 1-0 in the division while the Lambs are 0-1, with each team having faced off against the cellar dwelling San Francisco 49ers. So, win or lose the Seahawks will be in first place at the end of the day on Sunday, however, when they take the field Sunday night against the Cardinals they will do so without one of their starting offensive linemen.
.@Seahawks injury update: G Mike Iupati has been downgraded to Out (back) for tomorrow’s game.— Seahawks PR (@seahawksPR) October 24, 2020
Mike Iupati has had injury concerns during his career, and as the seventh oldest offensive lineman to start a game in the NFL this season, this does not come as a huge surprise. The Seahawks are likely to turn to Jordan Simmons as the starter at left guard in place of Iupati, just as they did in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings. That likely leaves Kyle Fuller or B.J. Finney as the fourth guard for the game, should Damien Lewis’ ankle issue force him out of the game at any point.
