The Seattle Seahawks (7-3) are in first place in the NFC West thanks to the Los Angeles Rams’ upset loss on Sunday, so now it’s up to Seattle to keep themselves atop the division on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles (3-6-1).
Well it’s pretty simple: Seahawks win and they stay in first and the Eagles are stuck in 3rd in the turgid NFC East. A Seahawks loss and they drop to second again while Philly vaults to first place. The 2010 NFC West was not this bad, ladies and gentlemen.
Anyway this is a game that the Seahawks shouldn’t take for granted, even though they’ve historically matched up well with Philadelphia and the Eagles look like they’re falling apart. Seattle has lost three in a row on the road and will be without right tackle Brandon Shell, but they will get Shaquill Griffin, Ethan Pocic, and Chris Carson back in the lineup. The Eagles will reshuffle their offensive line for the umpteenth time, and if Carson Wentz keeps struggling, we may even see Jalen Hurts take over the offense.
Oh yes, and yesterday was Russell Wilson’s 32nd birthday. The gift should be a Seahawks win, don’tcha think?
