We’ve reached the midway point of the Seattle Seahawks’ 2020 season and they are in pretty good shape. At 6-1 they lead the NFC West and are the #1 seed in the NFC as things stand, but that could all change this weekend. They’ll be taking on the AFC East leading Buffalo Bills (6-2), who have a -1 point differential but are otherwise in prime position to make the playoffs again and win their first divisional title since Jim Kelly was quarterback.
If the Seahawks win they are assured first place for at least another week, but a loss to Buffalo and a win by the Arizona Cardinals over the Miami Dolphins would drop Seattle toe 2nd in the division based on Arizona’s head-to-head tiebreaker.
We know the Seahawks offense has been red-hot just about every week, but the much maligned defense is coming off one of its best performances in quite some time. They’ll get Jamal Adams and Rasheem Green back from injury, plus Carlos Dunlap will make his Seahawks debut. Josh Allen is a very athletic quarterback who has cooled off after a hot start, but the Bills passing attack is worth respecting given his arm and the likes of Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley as targets. The Bills defense will have a tall task stopping Russell Wilson, but they do get some relief knowing Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are both out and the Seahawks running game will be shorthanded again.
