With the NFL season entering Week 16 this weekend, the Seattle Seahawks will play the Los Angeles Rams with a win giving the Hawks the NFC West division title. However, when Seattle does face off against the Rams, they will do so without one of their depth pieces on the interior of the offensive line.
The @Seahawks have placed G Phil Haynes on injured reserve this afternoon.

A fourth round pick out of Wake Forest in 2019, Phil Haynes possesses an exceptional amount of athleticism for a player his size. At 6’4”, 322 pounds, he posted 33 reps on the bench press, a 108” broad jump and a 31” vertical jump at the 2019 combine, and the combination of size and athleticism had fans excited for the potential he brought. However, in the two seasons since being draft Haynes has been plagued by injuries, and has made it on the field for just a single regular season offensive snap.
Haynes’ move to injured reserve leaves the Seahawks little light on the interior of the offensive line, with just Mike Iupati, Damien Lewis and Jordan Simmons as the only guards on the roster. Backup center Kyle Fuller has played guard earlier in his career, so could presumably fill in at the position if needed, with both Haynes and Jamarco Jones now on injured reserve.
In any case, the Hawks did not announce a corresponding move, so the team now has two open roster spots.
